This funeral mask is made of pure gold and can be viewed at the Bogota Gold Museum in Colombia. When a person dies they would place this mask on their face.

One of the awesome things I noticed about the Bogota Gold Museum was the inclusion of plugs – or earrings that were used to stretch earlobes! The next time I get a comment about my stretched ears I can say that my ancestors were doing it long before me!
