The Jade Seahorse has an entire sculpture made almost entirely out of bleached coral that had washed up on shore. I’m loving the detail that goes into these pieces.

Jade Seahorse Week: The Banana Republic

JadeSeahorseUtila-2Honduras is known to be the original Banana Republic and this seems to be an homage to the fact. Central America really does have the best damn bananas on the planet. The Jade Seahorse captures so much about the Caribbean and the Central American culture in their art pieces.

JadeSeahorseUtila-3You can stare at this picture for quite a while and notice something new every time. I never noticed the little puffer fish at the bottom of the octopus there at the Jade Seahorse.

This week I’ll be focusing on the awesome sculptures and art of the Jade Seahorse on the island of Utila, Honduras. If you get a chance, I highly suggest spending an hour or two getting lost in the sculptures that the owner has spent the last 20 years creating by hand.

Manzanillo3I know why people love Costa Rica. It’s raw beauty and lush landscape really tugs at your heartstrings. I could be lost here forever with a hammock and a beer.

Just one of those moments where you shout, “Well I’ll be damned!” when you realize that, YES, deserted islands with 1-2 palm trees on it actually exist. Only in the San Blas Islands… lol.

HDR: The Perfect Waters of the San Blas Islands, Panama

SanBlas3Over the course of our 5 day catamaran cruise from Panama to Colombia, I couldn’t believe the beauty we encountered. Not only is there a sunken ship just to the left of the photo, but the indigenous people to this area would row across the scene in their hand dug canoes gathering coconuts.

Life changing.

Zapatilla-1

Hands down one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to in my life, the Zapatilla Caye one will stay with me until I’m old, gray, and senile. The water, perfect blue and perfectly refreshing. Untouched white sand surrounded the island. It really doesn’t get more perfect than this.
